This Thanksgiving, I’m breaking lots of rules.
First of all, I’m not celebrating Thanksgiving in America.
I’m working without an oven; roasting a whole turkey is out of the picture.
I started eating “leftovers” the day before Thanksgiving.
I slept ’til noon on Thanksgiving Day… and there’s still cooking to be done!
Cooking for over 15 people! There isn’t enough table space to have everyone sit down… so I’ve decided it’s going to be a Thanksgiving party, rather than a Thanksgiving “dinner.”
My approach to Thanksgiving this year is so alternative, it feels surreal. If feels kind of like this film I made a number of years ago. I like to watch this film every Thanksgiving because it’s about turkey! I thought I would share it with you all today as you enjoy your T-gives celebrations.
Just like at the end of the film, I too will have to return from this surreal vacation to my real life. As whimsical as the dream world can be, there is always comfort in returning to reality. I’m having a blast on this vacation, but I don’t fear returning real life at the end of the week.
Happy Thanksgiving!
